(S.J.D) Dr. Sawsan Gharaibeh

Dr. Gharaibeh is a legal, private sector and gender expert with over  15 years of experience  experience using        legal channels to influence and improve policymaking and legislation in Jordan. Dr. Gharaibeh is extremely passionate about research and served on the board of the Virginia Journal for International law. She also served on the review committee for American Fulbright scholars to Jordan for the years 2010 and 2011.

Dr. Gharaibeh is also a published author and co-founder of the Transparency International Chapter in Jordan (Rasheed), a member of the civil society coalition, private sector and professional associations, and policy dialogue forums. She holds a JD and LLM from the University of Virginia and an LLB from the University of Jordan.Dr. Gharaibeh has worked for the the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where she supported Jordan’s newly established Anti-Corruption Commission and advocated for stronger collaboration with civil society. In 2012, she left UNDP to co-found “Rasheed” (now Transparency International Jordan). In 2018, she became the chair of TI Jordan. Sawsan Gharaibeh is currently the Chief Operating Officer for a local organization called Partners for Good that focuses the nexus between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on poverty alleviation, health, youth, and gender equality.
